You know those aesthetic Insta pics you see of people wandering gracefully through vibrant sunflower fields? Well, that could be you in March this year. Kalbar Sunflower Festival is back for another lap around the sun(flowers), which means you can get up close to these bright beauties for the entire weekend of April 8 – 10. The festival was set to run in late March, but due to the recent floods, it’s been postponed a few weeks.
Kalbar Sunflower Festival is held in the Scenic Rim, about an hour and fifteen minute drive south-west of Brisbane. The eight-acre sunflower field on the farm the festival is held at will be in full bloom, ready for all the camera snaps you can imagine. This year, there’s even an epic sunflower maze you can walk your way through, as well as an array of sunflower-themed activities such as sunflower sip and paint sessions, morning yoga, cooking classes, as well as helicopter rides and a sunset dinner set amongst the sunflowers.
There will also be local food vendors there serving up food and drinks in between sunflowers wanders. Tickets are $16.50 for adults, $5.50 for children 5-17 years old, and free for kids under 5.
FYI: proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required upon entry.
