Home to the Southport Courthouse, Queensland’s second-largest city has had its fair share of high-stakes cases. But this season, the stakes are even higher as “The Jury Experience” arrives in the Gold Coast, bringing a tension-packed live theatre drama that examines how our legal frameworks adapt to technologies that blur traditional boundaries of human responsibility.

You’ll then enter the jury box and take on the role of a juror to eventually determine the gate of the trial. Hear complex cross-examinations and witness testimonies, and decide who’s guilty and who’s innocent. Places are limited so make sure you secure your tickets today!
What is “The Jury Experience”?
“The Jury Experience” casts you in the role of a juror within a meticulously crafted courtroom drama. This innovative production integrates professional acting with immersive storytelling techniques to create an experience where your participation genuinely matters. As you observe the proceedings, you’ll find yourself analysing evidence, questioning witness credibility, and forming judgments that will contribute to the final verdict. Overall, the experience challenges you with profound ethical questions that emerge from the case, forcing you to confront your own biases about justice.
What is the trial about?
The trial centers on a compelling contemporary dilemma: determining accountability when autonomous technology causes harm. By examining an incident involving a self-driving vehicle that resulted in significant damage or injury, this fictional case raises fundamental questions about our increasingly automated world. Was the technology itself flawed? Did manufacturers provide adequate warnings about limitations? Were human operators negligent in their oversight? The proceedings present various perspectives on these questions, challenging jurors to determine what specific factors would shift liability between different parties.
