If you’re not at the ground, there’s no better place than a sports bar to catch all the footy finals action.
The culmination of two of Australia’s football codes takes place this weekend and with that comes the need to watch it on the big screen with a beer in one hand and some snacks in the other. And we’re not talking about pies and sausage rolls anymore.
Although we love them, they’ve been relegated to at-home entertainment. (Featured image: Charlievdb)
1. Harry’s Sports Bar, Burleigh Heads
With 65 seats in the venue and nine TV screens, it’s a pretty safe bet that at Harry’s Sports Bar you’re going to get a good view of the game. Add to that the ten beers on tap, the swell collection of spirits and wines, and enough food to feed a small football club including Harry’s Famous Steak, then there’s plenty of reasons why Harry’s should be on your list of sports bar options. It’s also quite the family friendly place.
Harry’s Sports Bar also operates on a walk-in basis.

2. The Sporting Globe Bar and Grill, Robina
Robina’s The Sporting Globe is giving punters three footy finals options for both the AFL Grand Final on the Saturday evening and the NRL Grand Final on the Sunday. From free to book tickets with a first-come, first-served basis to an all-access areas ‘Premium Ticket’ ($129) or, maybe the best option for a crew, a $60pp Booth option that comes complete with personal TV, a Burger, Wrap, Parma or Salad each plus a schooner if that’s your choice of drink, and wings to share.
With 50 screens in the venue, you’ll be hard-pressed to miss any part of the game.

3. Bloke In A Bar, Broadbeach
Possibly the ‘most’ sports bar in the country? With one of the country’s top-rated sports podcasts hosted and presented by former Bronco’s star Denan Kemp recorded in the onsite purpose-built interview studio, their own lager, a community of ‘Blokes’ focusing on the positive things in life, and TV screens to watch all the big games live, you would have a hard time arguing the opposite.
Oh, they also do a barbecue. So, beers, banter, and a barbecue. Sounds good to us.

4. Crafty’s Sports Bar, Biggera Waters
Sports bars do not have to be the sports bars of old where only men gathered, drank, and placed bets. Crafty’s Sports Bar in the north shows us that making a sports bar a family-friendly place with games, weekly specials, and a light and airy interior is a good business decision.
Add to that the premium food offerings like their signature chicken, burgers, pizzas, your traditional pub fare but leveled up, bar snacks like halloumi chips, there’s something at Crafty’s for everybody.
Booking ahead is essential.
