Spooky season is well and truly upon us, and with only two weeks until the big day of spook (Monday 31 October), iconic sweets brands M&M’s and Skittles have each released a new product with a Halloween twist.
The all-new M&M’s Cookies and Screeem and Skittles Rotten Zombie add a little novelty to the month of October whether you’re five or 55 – after all, what’s the worst that can happen from a haunted bag’ o’ choccies and lollies?
The M&M’s Cookies and Screeem features delicious cookies and cream flavoured milk chocolate, inside M&M’s iconic crispy shell. While the Skittles Rotten Zombie offers five fruity flavours – chilling black cherry, petrifying citrus punch, blood red berry, boogeyman blackberry, and mummified melon – plus one unknown and utterly disgusting surprise, the rotten zombie!
The spook-tacular product launch comes after the brands’ leading company, Mars Wigley reported an increase in trick or treating, year after year in Australia, recording a 38 per cent increase in household participation. What’s a bit of fun here and there, ‘ey?
Mars Wrigley Australia’s Marketing Director, Ben Hill says, “we’ve seen the popularity of Halloween in Australia increase over the years with more and more neighbourhoods bustling with trick or treaters come 31 October. We hope that the introduction of these new products – the epitome of a trick or treat – helps Aussies get into the spirit of the season.
This is the first year we’ve had M&M’s Cookies and Screeem in market and this comes off the back of us creating a consumer led innovation pipeline of product produced locally in our Ballarat Factory,” Ben finishes.
M&M’s Cookies and Screeem and Skittles Rotten Zombie are available to purchase from leading supermarkets and some independent retailers from October.
