Melbourne is certainly a wonderful place to be during the holiday season, with sparkling trees, glimmering lights and plenty of festive activities. But, with all the frantic shopping, cooking, parties and other seasonal madness, you might need a holiday from your holiday. A national survey of 1800 Jetstar customers found that 79 per cent of respondents needed a post-Christmas break. So, to help you find some much-needed rest, Jetstar is launching a Post-Chrissie Recovery Sale. For Club Jetstar members, the Christmas sale is on as we speak. General public access will start at midnight tonight.

There’s over 65, 000 sale fares available across over 50 routes. Domestic prices start as low as $39, and international fares start at $175. According to Jetstar, people who are already planning a holiday are looking at popular destinations like Bali (28%), Hawaii (25%) and Thailand (16%). Meanwhile, here in Australia, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Whitsundays are the top domestic picks.

- Brisbane to Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) from $59
