After successful seasons in Sydney and Melbourne, Hamilton the Musical is finally coming to Brisbane next year. Hamilton’s Brisbane run will hit the stage at QPAC from January 27 next year, so gather the gang for one of the world’s most enthralling productions.
When Hamilton opened in Sydney, it completely dominated the live theatre scene in the city. The Australian producer for Hamilton, Michael Cassel, said of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s production that it is ‘musical theatre at its most innovative, original and transformative best’ and is the reason why it needed to come to Australian audiences.
For the uninitiated, Hamilton, The Musical is the story of Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the treasury and right-hand man of George Washington during the Revolutionary War. He was a black immigrant from the West Indies and just like his country, he is ‘young, scrappy and hungry’.
The 11- Tony award winning Broadway musical is an absolute rollercoaster and the excitement for it around the city is palpable.
Tickets for Hamilton the Musical officially go on sale Monday, September 12 but you can sign up for the waitlist now to snag presale tickets on Monday, September 5.
