Onboard The Disney Wish you’ll find the first-ever Disney attraction at sea.
Fancy an escape to our childhood and film favourites?
The Disney Wish is the first out of three cruise liners being added over the next couple of years, which starts in Florida then heads to The Bahamas. The brand new ship will join the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy, making up a rather marvellous fleet.
Expected to set sail in summer 2022 (our winter), Disney has recently unveiled their cruise ship, and it’s got some pretty impressive features that’ll make the year-long wait worthwhile. The ship’s three-storey atrium features an enchanted staircase and a grand ballroom, where guests will be greeted by Cinderella herself and a giant wishing star chandelier.
And there are some seriously cool new features included on The Disney Wish, such as an actual 760ft long water ride attraction suspended high above the upper decks, named the Aqua Mouse, as well as six swimming pools and a kids’ Splash Zone. The Aqua Mouse is the first-ever Disney attraction at sea and the wild water ride is complete with show scenes with Minnie and Mickey, lighting and special effects and splash-tacular surprises.
Plus, there are adult-only areas such as the Senses Spa, which features private treatment rooms, lavish spa villas and steam and aromatherapy rooms. There is also the Quiet Cove—a peaceful refuge dedicated to lounging, sipping and soaking. Set away from the bustle of family activities, this secluded adults-only district will feature a luxurious infinity pool, poolside bar and chic café that’ll make you want to be their guest!
Meanwhile, children can make an entrance via an epic slide from the grand hall. Jealous much? And there are lots of activities for them to choose from including a Marvel Superhero Training Academy and a Fairytale Hall where children can visit Belle in her library or Rapunzel in her art studio.
And Star Wars fans needn’t have to visit a galaxy far, far away for a good time as they can sit back in The Disney Wish’s Hyperspace Lounge, where you’ll board a spaceship upon entry and explore panoramic views of the galaxy. ”This richly themed, immersive experience will be reserved for adults every evening, offering interactive tasting experiences and signature beverages inspired by destinations such as Batuu, Tatooine and Mustafar,” explain Disney.
Meanwhile, the ship’s theatre is inspired by the magical forest and guests will be able to enjoy a Frozen-themed theatrical experience, known as Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, as they tuck into a selection of food. There are also three different restaurants to dine at which are all inspired by characters and items from Beauty and The Beast such as Cogsworth, Lumiere and The Rose.
Plus, there’s a Marvel Cinematic Dining Adventure, as well as a very elegant Hollywood-themed restaurant named 1923, which pays homage to the golden age of animation and offers a tasteful tribute to its Californian heritage with dishes inspired by the state’s unique fusion of cultural flavours.
Most of the ship’s 1,254 staterooms will offer an ocean view- including 877 (70%) with a spacious verandah—they will each be themed around Disney characters. Plus, 451 rooms have connecting doors that adjoin rooms to accommodate larger families.
The Disney Wish will also debut four royal suites—richly adorned, lavishly appointed suites that accommodate up to six guests and feature extravagant details and first-class amenities. These include a pair of two-story suites, which will feature stunning statement pieces like an elegant spiral staircase and a spectacular two-deck-high stained-glass frieze.
