If you’re like us and couldn’t get enough of David Attenborough’s latest Prehistoric Planet series, then we’re all in for a real treat. A massive dinosaur exhibition will be opening up in Brisbane’s Queensland Museum, complete with sixteen life-sized dino skeletons from South America. Come face to face with the largest land animals of all time at Dinosaurs of Patagonia.
Among the thirteen species showcased at the exhibition will be the Patagotitan, the largest dinosaur in history. Facts about the giant dinosaur were discovered back in 2008, where it was found the Patagotitan weighed in at a whopping 70 tonnes. Not sure what would survive if one of those came stomping through your backyard…
Joining the Patagotitan will also be the Tyrannotitan with its razor-sharp carnivorous teeth as well as the Herrerasaurus, one of the world’s earliest-known dinos.
While the massive skeleton displays might be the main attraction at Dinosaurs of Patagonia, you can also learn more about the Cretaceous period through 3D animations and videos as well as an array of fossils. Keep your eyes peeled for the fossil of the Patagotitan femur, which probably won’t be hard to miss considering it’s sized at 2.4 metres.
