The last immersive theatre installment from the Dark Stories crew was all about hunting a killer in the woods at night. Now, the team has created The Haunting, a new mystery to solve and it all takes place at the Gold Coast Hinterland Heritage Museum. It involves ghosts and spirits, tales of mad men, a woman in white, and you.
Do you have what it takes to enter the old building under the cover of darkness, where a fictional murderous past has sprung up amidst the original character, fittings and furniture? There are creaks and squeaks in the night, chills in corridors and a presence in the rooms that you cannot shake. You’re not alone and it’s not safe, but what will you do?
Take part in The Haunting, an immersive theatre experience on September 2-4.
The Haunting at the Gold Coast Hinterland Heritage Museum makes excellent use of the setting for a spooky and frightening theatre production. Featuring multiple actors in an innovative live performance where various endings are possible, audience members will interact with their surroundings as they take advice from the mysterious priest. But the decisions on what to do (and when) will be theirs to make as they explore the historic house.
Audience members at The Haunting in other cities have said that it is “a load of fun” as well as “an enjoyable experience”. They’ve “loved the improvisational element to some aspects of the show too” and said it is “spooky, entertaining and a perfect little pinch of history in the beautifully creepy setting”. Step into the production and watch what hides in the shadows come alive around you.
