The Gold Coast comes alive at Halloween. From Fright Nights at Movie World, to Happy Halloween at Dreamworld, family-friendly Spooky Nights at Sea World, and “Halloween in the Laneway” at Surfers Paradise. Local neighborhoods host trick-or-treating, haunted house tours, and lively street parties for all ages. Its a community affair for all ages. Now, Candlelight Halloween has arrived to illuminate the Gold Coast with a spooky concert perfect for the whole family.
Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics
Beetlejuice Theme (Danny Elfman), Danse Macabre (Camille Saint-Saëns), and Der Erlkönig (Franz Schubert) crescendo into a finale of ghostly drama and mischief. The string quartet relishes the challenge, stretching their classical chops to capture wild energy, bony jigs, and desperate midnight rides in vivid color.
Four players become a ghostly chorus, trading solos and harmonies that evoke the strangeness of the season. Every familiar melody unfurls a new personality, from manic humor to profound loss, as strings strip away cinematic gloss and reveal the timeless magic beneath—the beating heart of Halloween in classical sound.
Candlelight Halloween at The Imperial Hotel
The Imperial Hotel Gold Coast is transformed by thousands of glowing candles, filling its grand interiors with a warm, spectral radiance that elevates every note played by the string quartet. For sixty magical minutes, audiences are enveloped in a beautiful atmosphere, with doors opening 30–45 minutes early to allow everyone to soak in the immersive scene and anticipate the evening’s enchantment.
Highlights from the setlist include Stranger Things (Theme) by S U R V I V E, Funeral March of a Marionette by Charles Gounod, and The Addams Family (Theme) by Vic Mizzy, ensuring just enough playful spookiness without ever being overwhelming. These one-of-a-kind concerts are among the most popular Halloween experiences, and waiting too long to secure tickets means missing out on an autumn night unlike any other.
