After seeing the devastation of the floods, you might be wondering what you can do to help. Grab a beer with a purpose this month, thanks to hospitality group Australian Venue Co. They’re raising money from beer sales in all their venues around the country, to help those affected by the Queensland and New South Wales floods. $1 from schooners and $2 from pint sales from select beers will go towards the Australian Red Cross Qld & NSW Floods Appeal. The Beers for Mates campaign will last until March 31, so you better hop to it!
Beers For Mates Campaign
With over 180 beloved bars and pubs around the country, Australian Venue Co is hoping to raise thousands for this campaign.
“We want to do our part to support those communities in need during this challenging time,” said Paul Waterson, CEO at Australian Venue Co. ” We know our customers feel the same way, so this initiative gives them the opportunity to raise vital funds while enjoying a beer at their local.”
In Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia, the fundraising will come from the sales of Furphy beer. Meanwhile, in Queensland and Northern Territory, donations will come from XXXX Gold purchases.
Funds raised for the Red Cross will help them provide humanitarian support to those affected by the floods. This will include enabling volunteers and staff to help at relief centres and outreach services, supporting people and communities, and helping them recover and build resilience to disasters.

Of course, if you’re not a fan of beer, you can also donate to the Red Cross directly. Direct donations are tax-deductible.
